What does the moped cult from Suhl have to do with career orientation?

8 Jun, 2026
More than you think. Anyone who has ever tinkered learns early:   👉 You have to ask someone who knows their stuff – or educate yourself. You have to take action – the moped does not build itself. 👉 You have to maintain it – genuine upkeep does not happen in the gaming den in front of the console. 👉 You have to buy fuel if you want to be mobile. 👉 And when it breaks, there are two options: leave it or repair it.   That is exactly an early understanding of value creation: ☝ Real value arises from one's own effort.   We embrace this mindset in our internships: Students should not just watch, but experience for themselves how something is created.   🎁 For this reason, they design their own keychain in our production – The overwhelmingly chosen favorite motif: the classic T…

Shift in the shaft. 🔧

In highly complex automation systems, one topic is often underestimated: 👉 NIO handling (NOK)   Because of course: Everyone optimizes for quality and minimal scrap rate. But what happens when parts still need to be rejected?   In the picture, you can see the drop shafts installed in a 3 × 9 m system. Here, over 20 stations perform assembly, testing, and measurement tasks, which for NIO management means: ➡️ Multiple drop shafts ➡️ Clear NIO classifications ➡️ Continuous monitoring & counting Sounds simple – it isn’t.   The reality in engineering: ✅ No jamming in the shaft ✅ Safe arrival in the correct box ✅ Master different component geometries ✅ Ensure 100% clean software logic   Why this is crucial: NIO is not an exception – it is an integral part of the proce…

During the funding handover for the KHoR, it wasn't just the sun that made us melt. Experiencing how a vision gradually turns into reality was a truly special moment for us and everyone involved.   Erik Findeisen, the city of Suhl, and everyone who believed in this one idea were impressively confirmed: High-ranking representatives of Thuringia's state politics clearly showed their support.   With the handing over of a funding notice amounting to around 1.14 million euros, the official starting signal was given for the Competence Center for Timber Construction and Renewable Resources (KHoR) in Suhl-Nord. Together with Thuringia's Prime Minister Mario Voigt, Environment Minister Tilo Kummer, and Infrastructure Minister Steffen Schütz, the establishment of a new central platform for inno…

🌷 Automation that fits - from A to Z

This image shows one of our completed #system solutions: a precisely designed transfer line with clean lines and optimally coordinated processes. Everything appears straightforward, structured, and designed for maximum #efficiency. But the journey to get there is rarely as straightforward as this elegantly designed #transfer conveyor. Especially during the #concept phase, things are often dynamic: requirements change, details are refined, and new ideas emerge. This is precisely where our strength lies. We guide this process with experience, technical expertise, and the necessary eye for what is feasible—until a perfect solution emerges from the many possibilities. As a #special-purpose-machine-builder, we don’t develop #standard-solutions, but exactly what your #process requires: from…

Business trips always offer exciting insights: new perspectives, inspiring conversations, and the chance to experience customers and projects directly on site. And sometimes you get an extra reward—like yesterday in Weinheim, with glorious weather, impressive castle ruins, and a view that simply does you good. Meanwhile, preparations for our “Proof of Concept” day were in full swing at our location in Suhl. The result: a complete success.   The home team scored with precise technology, while the away team impressed with flexible automation concepts...   Let's hope it continues like this – including the weather.
